More than 30 years have passed and Needles has grown into its own. Inspired by founder Keizo Shimizo’s love and admiration of U.S made product, his brand explores the fusion of American/Japanese fabrication and technique to produce an output that sits in its own merit. It is a brand fulfilled from the two nations, under the guise of one man.
From working in a small retailer in Tokyo, Shimizo has built a worldwide renowned label through elegant interpretations of sportswear, Americana infused printing and the iconic Rebuild by Needles line, which takes old disused vintage garments and gives them a new lease of life.
The latest collection plays on key lines form the Needles archive reinterpreted with new colourways and progressive materiality while taking a fresh approach to tie-dying techniques and reworked vintage lines. Needles represents an infiltration of cross-cultural contamination from Tokyo to New York City.

CHECKERED POLO KNITTED SWEATER
Needles doesn’t do simply designs, Shimizo picks up on patterning throughout each and every collection. The Checkered Polo Knitted Sweater casts another element to the brand already breaking boundaries.
POLY SMOOTH TRACK JACKET
The Needles favourite is the re-interpreted Poly Smooth Track Jacket complete with the iconic Butterfly embroidery and striped panelling. A retro-inspired futuristic Track Jacket.
BERMUDA HAT
Another addition to the Bermuda Hat range takes focus on a Houndstooth pattern reminiscent throughout the collection. A perfect accompaniment to the matching Track Jacket and Pants.
REBUILT TIE-DYE FLANNEL SHIRT
The Rebuilt by Needles line is a new touch of vintage. Taking old, unused garments and stitching them together in a shirt made up of seven separate pieces. To add to the innovation, tie-dying is used for that new lease of life.

While Needles offer a fast-moving range of new styles and re-interpretations, the Pocket T-shirt keeps a back catalogue of well-fabricated staples for everyday wear.
POLY JACQUARD TRACK PANT
