product description
From the 2020 Marc Jacobs collection, rare/HTF Firebird Stam in Taupe I purchased this bag secondhand more than a year ago and have never carried it. It replaced a bag I bought & sold many years ago. Its in excellent condition with only some minor ""bruising"" at the ends of the frame likely caused by catching the chain when closing the bag. No major scratches, scuffs or watermarks. Minimal wear to the corners, Inside is clean with no rips, holes, snags or stains I believe this is goat (chevre) leather with a light metallic sheen. The color is taupe, but when it catches the light, it has dusty rose undertones. The studs are crystals & the hardware aged bronze. The lining is black satin Approx. 15 in long, 11 in high and 5 in deep. The rolled leather handles have an approx 6 in drop, the detachable chain has an approx 13 in drop Includes MJ sleeper & care tags Originally retailed for $1450
about MARC JACOBS
Explaining his clothes, Jacobs has said "what I prefer is that even if someone feels hedonistic, they don't look it. Curiosity about sex is much more interesting to me than domination. ... My clothes are not hot. Never. Never." The audience for his fashion shows typically includes celebrities like Kim Gordon and Vincent Gallo. Guy Trebay, a critic for The New York Times, in response to Oscar de la Renta's comment that a coat designed by Jacobs closely resembled one that de la Renta had designed thirty years earlier, wrote that "unlike the many brand-name designers who promote the illusion that their output results from a single prodigious creativity, Mr. Jacobs makes no pretense that fashion emerges full blown from the head of one solitary genius". Marc Jacobs, was one of the first fashion designers to establish this “street wise aesthetics – a [mash up of] a little preppie, a little grunge, a little couture.
