Artist and designer Avery Thatcher was researching historic wallpapers when she discovered the recurring and varied stamps that inadvertently adorned so many wallpapers installations of that era. With their crudely rendered gestural flourishes and filigree, these excise stamps had a funky, hand drawn look that Avery often liked more than the traditional wallpapers themselves. Thatcher is a Portland, Oregon based design studio specializing in wallpaper, tiles, and home goods with a commitment to quality, craftsmanship and sustainability.
